Nominator's project description
| Dr. Dessart is widely known for his outstanding work on many aspects of compact object collapse, coalescence, and stellar outflows. He revealed the explosion physics of new types of supernovae, and predicted the neutrino-driven winds of merging neutron stars recently found in gravitational wave sources. In Germany, he intends to address supernovae in massive binary stars and their relic neutron stars and black holes. |
